In my classroom, I put my students first by tailoring my instruction to my students' individual needs. Through reading and writing instruction I help students discover a love of literature. Below I have included information about my classroom.
A Look Around My Classroom
This Year Be BoardThis is an inspiration board for my students in my classroom. Middle school students are discovering who they are, and this shows my classroom is a safe place for them.

Successful Students Classroom ExpectationsAt the beginning of school, my classroom discusses the importance of creating a value system in the classroom. Together we create a value system that becomes our classroom rules. We all sign the rules to show we will uphold these expectations in our community.

Objective BoardIt is essential students have a learning objective for the day. Clearly displaying and stating the learning target is an essential part of my classroom. I have the learning objective always on my Do Now and displayed in the classroom.

Flexible SeatingProviding students with the ability to choose the seats that are right for them. After discussing the purpose of each type of seating, students were able to utilize a variety of tools to help students focus during independent work.

Reading Corner
The "Reading Corner" is a place where we come together as a community to learn mini lessons, participate in shared writing experiences, and listen to the read aloud. I also use the space to display anchor charts from previous lessons that students can use to utilize throughout class.
